C’est l'un des plus beaux plans d'eau du département, un véritable havre de nature, offrant une magnifique vue sur ses 23 hectares d’eau bordés de forêts. Cette base de loisirs départementale offre de multiples activités tout au long de l’année : baignade surveillée du 15 juin au 31 août en accès libre, pêche, randonnée, aire de jeux, aire de pique-nique, prêt de canoës et paddles en été … Accessible à tous, le site du Grand Étang de St-Estèphe est labellisé "Tourisme et Handicap" pour les quatre handicaps.
