MASSIF DU CAROUX-ESPINOUSE – Saint-Pons-de-Thomières

Au cœur du Parc Naturel du Haut Languedoc, le massif s’élève à plus de 1000 m d’altitude. Site classé, il est entouré de gorges escarpées (Héric, Colombières, Madale). Son climat montagnard aux influences méditerranéennes et atlantiques ont permis le développement d'une faune et d'une flore très riches dans un paysage diversifié. Des mouflons s’y sont développés. Une table d’orientation au sommet du Caroux offre une vue imprenable sur le Bas Languedoc, les plaines du biterrois et la Méditerranée.

In the heart of the Natural Park of the Haut Languedoc, the massif rises to an altitude of more than 1000 m. A listed site, it is surrounded by steep gorges (Héric, Colombières, Madale). Its mountain climate with Mediterranean and Atlantic influences have allowed the development of a very rich fauna and flora in a diversified landscape. Some mouflons have developed there. An orientation table at the top of Caroux offers an unobstructed view of the Bas Languedoc, the plains of the Biterrois and the Mediterranean.

Im Herzen des Naturparks Haut Languedoc erhebt sich das Massiv auf über 1000 m Höhe. Es steht unter Naturschutz und ist von steilen Schluchten (Héric, Colombières, Madale) umgeben. Sein Bergklima mit mediterranen und atlantischen Einflüssen hat die Entwicklung einer sehr reichen Fauna und Flora in einer abwechslungsreichen Landschaft ermöglicht. Auch Mufflons haben sich hier entwickelt. Ein Orientierungstisch auf dem Gipfel des Caroux bietet einen atemberaubenden Blick auf das Bas Languedoc, die Ebenen des Biterrois und das Mittelmeer.

In het hart van het natuurpark van de Haut Languedoc stijgt het massief tot een hoogte van meer dan 1000 m. Het is een beschermd gebied, omgeven door steile kloven (Héric, Colombières, Madale). Het bergklimaat met mediterrane en Atlantische invloeden heeft de ontwikkeling van een zeer rijke fauna en flora in een gediversifieerd landschap mogelijk gemaakt. Moufflons hebben zich hier ontwikkeld. Een oriëntatietafel op de top van de Caroux biedt een adembenemend uitzicht op de Bas Languedoc, de Biterrois-vlakte en de Middellandse Zee.

Su clima de montaña con influencias mediterráneas y atlánticas ha permitido el desarrollo de una fauna y flora muy ricas en un paisaje diversificado. Los muflones se han desarrollado aquí. Una mesa de orientación en la cima del Caroux ofrece una vista impresionante del Bajo Languedoc, las llanuras del Biterrois y el Mediterráneo.
