Le Tombolo – Saint-Pierre-Quiberon

La Presqu'île de Quiberon est reliée au continent par une longue flèche de sable qui en sa partie la plus étroite ne mesure que 22 mètres. Seule la route et la voie de chemin de fer occupent le passage le plus étroit. Ce sont les courants qui ont façonnés ce tombolo au fil du temps en y déposant du sable. Long de 7 kilomètres le tombolo débouche sur l'entrée de la Presqu'île dominée par l'imposant fort Penthièvre.

The Quiberon Peninsula is connected to the mainland by a long sand spit which at its narrowest part measures only 22 meters. Only the road and the railway line occupy the narrowest passage. It is the currents that have shaped this tombolo over time by depositing sand in it. The tombolo is 7 kilometres long and leads to the entrance of the peninsula dominated by the imposing Fort Penthièvre.

Die Halbinsel Quiberon ist durch einen langen Sandpfeil mit dem Festland verbunden, der an seiner schmalsten Stelle nur 22 Meter misst. Nur die Straße und die Eisenbahnlinie nehmen die engste Stelle ein. Die Strömungen haben diesen Tombolo im Laufe der Zeit geformt, indem sie Sand auf ihm abgelagert haben. La península de Quiberon está unida al continente por una larga lengua de arena que, en su parte más estrecha, sólo mide 22 metros. Sólo la carretera y la línea de ferrocarril ocupan la parte más estrecha. Las corrientes han dado forma al tómbolo a lo largo del tiempo depositando arena. El tómbolo tiene 7 kilómetros de longitud y conduce a la entrada de la Presqu'île, dominada por el imponente Fuerte Penthièvre.
