Tour du Bost – Charmoy

La Tour du Bost, imposant donjon quadrangulaire, est classée monument historique. Elle s'élève dans son état actuel à 30 mètres au-dessus du sol. C'est une tour de défense, avant-poste des anciens châteaux de Montcenis et d'Uchon, mais aussi un lieu de résidence et de prestige, chef-lieu d'une seigneurie importante de la région. La date de sa construction est inconnue, mais estimée selon les spécialistes au XIVe siècle. Il s'agit d'un bâtiment unique en son genre, qui possède un escalier aménagé dans les murs et montant du sous-sol jusqu'au sommet. Détruite en partie par un incendie en 1920, elle risquait de s'effondrer. La création d'une association de sauvegarde "La Tour du Bost" a permis de la faire progressivement renaître. Depuis 1991, l'association intervient pour sa restauration avec l'aide de bénévoles lors de chantiers d'été et d'ateliers d'insertion encadrés par l'organisme TREMPLIN qui travaillent en permanence sur le site. Attention, le site étant sur une propriété privée, il n'est accessible qu'à des dates précises ou bien sur rendez-vous.

The Tour du Bost, an imposing quadrangular keep, is a listed historic monument. In its current state, it rises 30 metres above the ground. It is a defensive tower, an outpost of the ancient castles of Montcenis and Uchon, but also a place of residence and prestige, the chief town of an important seigneury in the region. The date of its construction is unknown, but specialists estimate that it dates from the 14th century. It is a unique building, with a staircase built into the walls and rising from the basement to the top. Partly destroyed by fire in 1920, it was in danger of collapsing. The creation of a conservation association, "La Tour du Bost", has gradually brought it back to life. Since 1991, the association has been working on its restoration with the help of volunteers on summer work camps and integration workshops supervised by the TREMPLIN organisation, who work permanently on the site. Please note that as the site is privately owned, it is only accessible on specific dates or by appointment.

Er ist ein Verteidigungsturm, Vorposten der alten Burgen von Montcenis und Uchon, aber auch ein Wohnort und Prestigeobjekt, Hauptort einer wichtigen Herrschaft in der Region. Das Baudatum ist unbekannt, wird aber von Fachleuten auf das 14. Jahrhundert geschätzt. Es handelt sich um ein einzigartiges Gebäude mit einer in die Mauern eingelassenen Treppe, die vom Untergeschoss bis zur Spitze hinaufreicht. Nachdem es 1920 durch einen Brand teilweise zerstört wurde, war es einsturzgefährdet. Durch die Gründung einer Schutzvereinigung "La Tour du Bost" konnte sie nach und nach wiederbelebt werden. Seit 1991 restauriert der Verein den Turm mithilfe von Freiwilligen, die im Rahmen von Sommercamps und Eingliederungswerkstätten unter Anleitung der Organisation TREMPLIN ständig an der Baustelle arbeiten. Achtung: Da sich die Anlage in Privatbesitz befindet, ist sie nur zu bestimmten Terminen oder nach vorheriger Absprache zugänglich.
