Saint-Rachoux est le lieu symbolique servant de trait d'union entre le bourg de Saint-Aignan de Grand Lieu et le lac.
Porte d’entrée vers le lac, Saint-Rachoux a connu une activité commerciale au cours du 19e siècle. le petit canal, partant de la fontaine Saint-Rachoux vers la Boire de Mallet, permettait d’organiser un commerce avec d’autres ports du lac de Grand Lieu. Ce commerce se composait surtout de produits alimentaires (blé, farine, vin…), mais aussi des matériaux de construction comme le bois, la chaux et le ciment.
Ce commerce, victime de la meilleure qualité des routes et de l’apparition des lignes de chemins de fer s’est éteint vers 1940.
Le site de Saint-Rachoux était également un lieu de pèlerinage reconnu au 19e siècle. L’eau de sa fontaine était réputée pour soigner la rache ou la teigne du lait du nourrisson.

Saint-Rachoux is the symbolic place serving as a link between the town of Saint-Aignan de Grand Lieu and the lake.
As the gateway to the lake, Saint-Rachoux had a commercial activity during the 19th century. The small canal, running from the Saint-Rachoux fountain to the Boire de Mallet, allowed the organization of a trade with other ports of the lake of Grand Lieu. This trade consisted mainly of food products (wheat, flour, wine…), but also building materials such as wood, lime and cement.
This trade, victim of the better quality of the roads and the appearance of the railroad lines died out around 1940
The site of Saint-Rachoux was also a recognized place of pilgrimage in the 19th century. The water of its fountain was reputed to cure pox or the milk moth of the infant.
