Musée du Luxembourg

Le musée du Luxembourg est le premier musée français ouvert au public. Dédié lors de son inauguration en 1750 aux arts anciens, puis aux arts contemporains en 1818, il quitte le palais du Luxembourg en 1884 pour déménager dans un bel édifice construit pour l'occasion, au nord-ouest du jardin du Luxembourg. Propriété du Sénat depuis 2000, le musée est aujourd'hui un espace d'expositions temporaires de renommée internationale.

The Musée du Luxembourg is the first French museum open to the public. Dedicated at its inauguration in 1750 to the ancient arts, then to contemporary arts in 1818, it left the Luxembourg Palace in 1884 to move to a beautiful new building built for the occasion, northwest of the Luxembourg Gardens. Owned by the Senate since 2000, the museum is now an internationally renowned temporary exhibition space.

Das Musée du Luxembourg ist das erste französische Museum, das der Öffentlichkeit zugänglich gemacht wurde. Bei seiner Eröffnung im Jahr 1750 war es den alten Künsten gewidmet, 1818 den zeitgenössischen Künsten. 1884 verließ es den Palais du Luxembourg und zog in ein schönes Gebäude um, das für diesen Zweck im Nordwesten des Jardin du Luxembourg errichtet wurde. Seit 2000 befindet sich das Museum im Besitz des Senats und ist heute ein international anerkannter Ort für temporäre Ausstellungen.

Het Musée du Luxembourg is het eerste Franse museum dat open is voor het publiek. Het was bij zijn opening in 1750 gewijd aan de oude kunsten en in 1818 aan de hedendaagse kunsten. In 1884 verliet het het paleis van Luxemburg om te verhuizen naar een prachtig nieuw gebouw dat voor de gelegenheid was gebouwd, ten noordwesten van de Luxemburgse tuinen. Het museum is sinds 2000 eigendom van de Senaat en is nu een internationaal bekende locatie voor tijdelijke tentoonstellingen.

Propiedad del Senado desde 2000, el museo es ahora un lugar de renombre internacional para exposiciones temporales.

Dedicato alla sua inaugurazione nel 1750 alle arti antiche, poi alle arti contemporanee nel 1818, lasciò il Palazzo del Lussemburgo nel 1884 per trasferirsi in un nuovo bellissimo edificio costruito per l'occasione, a nord-ovest dei Giardini del Lussemburgo. Di proprietà del Senato dal 2000, il museo è oggi una sede di fama internazionale per mostre temporanee.
