Moulin de Piis – Bassanne

Le Moulin de Piis, probablement construit au XIIIᵉ siècle sur une motte féodale, est un ancien moulin à farine fortifié. Il cesse son activité dans les années 1930, sert de séchoir à tabac jusqu’en 1947, puis est abandonné. Dans les années 1990, la commune de Bassanne rachète le site. En 1999, l’association des Amis du Moulin de Piis est créée pour entreprendre sa restauration et assurer sa mise en valeur. Aujourd’hui, le moulin est entretenu par les bénévoles de l’association, qui organise visites et animations.

Fortified flour mill, probably built in the 13th century. The mill ceased its activity in the 1930s. The dwelling, occupied by tenant farmers, is abandoned a decade later. The mill then became a tobacco dryer until 1947, when it was abandoned.

Befestigte Getreidemühle, die wahrscheinlich im 13. Jahrhundert erbaut wurde. Die Mühle stellt ihren Betrieb in den 1930er Jahren ein. Das Wohnhaus, das von Pächtern bewohnt wird, wird ein Jahrzehnt später aufgegeben. Die Mühle wird dann bis 1947 als Tabaktrockner genutzt und anschließend dem Verfall preisgegeben.

Il Moulin de Piis, costruito probabilmente nel XIII secolo su un tumulo feudale, è un antico mulino fortificato. Ha cessato l'attività negli anni '30 ed è stato utilizzato come essiccatoio per il tabacco fino al 1947, quando è stato abbandonato. Negli anni '90, il comune di Bassanne ha acquistato il sito. Nel 1999 è stata creata l'associazione Amici del Moulin de Piis per il restauro e la promozione del sito. Oggi il mulino è mantenuto dai volontari dell'associazione, che organizza visite ed eventi.
