Le Tétrodon, habitat mobile et modulaire – Martigues

L’association accepte de recevoir pour un euro symbolique en décembre 2011 cet habitat mobile et modulaire, identifié comme étant un Tétrodon par l’architecte historien Thierry Duroussea, le dernier dans la région. Espace habitable, le Tétrodon proposera des résidences à des artistes, de l'Etang de Berre au Golfe de Fos. Ces résidences peuvent être élargies à des experts, chercheurs, architectes, designers, participant à la création d’un laboratoire/observatoire des territoires. Les espaces modulables du Tétrodon sont adaptables : montage de panneaux fermant les coques pour aménager un espace d’exposition intérieur, prolongement extérieur par des structures légères comme la toile… Le Tétrodon peut aussi se prêter à l’accueil de groupes pour le départ de promenades, l’organisation d’ateliers artistiques ne nécessitant pas de matériel important. Un peu d'histoire. Ce Tétrodon est issue d’une commande de la Sonacotra en 1972 de 32 modèles de 6 mètres afin de loger les travailleurs construisant l’usine sidérurgique de SOLMER (Arcelor Mittal) à Fos-sur-Mer. Ce modèle-ci de 10 mètre est le seul issue de cette commande. En contrepartie, l’association décide de le rénover afin d’en faire son projet phare, un lieu pérenne destiner à accueillir des visiteurs , des marcheurs, et des artistes tel un refuge périurbain. L’idée de le situer le long du GR2013 s’impose alors au moment où l’association participe en 2013 à Marseille Capitale Européenne à la Culture et contribue à la réalisation de ce premier GR périurbain. Il est labellisé ‘Patrimoine XXème’ par la DRAC en 2012, et devient propriété de la Ville de Martigues en 2019 après sa restauration.
