L'ArTsenal, Centre d'Art Contemporain – Dreux

Inscrit à l’inventaire supplémentaire des monuments historiques, le bâtiment d’origine de l’Arsenal des pompes est réalisé en 1902 par l’architecte Eugène-Edouard Avard. Les pompiers de Dreux en établissent leur base jusqu’en 1961, avant sa transformation dans les années 60 en marché couvert après l’adjonction, de chaque côté du bâtiment, de deux ailes supplémentaires. En raison du transfert du marché couvert dans un nouveau bâtiment, il est inoccupé à partir de 2002. L'ar(t)senal, dont le T est le symbole trouve aujourd’hui une nouvelle fonctionnalité intimement liée aux mouvements artistiques contemporains.

Now classified on the French supplementary historic monument list, the original "Arsenal des pompes" building was designed in 1902 by the architect Eugène-Edouard Avard. The fire-fighters of Dreux had their base here until 1961, before it was turned into a covered market in the 60s, after the addition of two extra wings on each side of the building. The covered market was transferred to another building, and so the building remained unoccupied from 2002. The "Ar(t)senal", whose T is symbolic, has now found a new functionality closely linked to contemporary artistic movements.

Das ursprüngliche Gebäude des Arsenal des pompes wurde 1902 von dem Architekten Eugène-Edouard Avard errichtet und steht im Zusatzinventar der historischen Denkmäler. Die Feuerwehr von Dreux errichtete hier bis 1961 ihren Stützpunkt, bevor es in den 1960er Jahren in eine Markthalle umgewandelt wurde, nachdem an beiden Seiten des Gebäudes zwei zusätzliche Flügel angebaut worden waren. Da die Markthalle in ein neues Gebäude verlegt wurde, steht sie seit 2002 leer. Das Ar(t)senal, dessen Symbol das T ist, findet heute eine neue Funktionalität, die eng mit den zeitgenössischen Kunstbewegungen verbunden ist.

Het oorspronkelijke gebouw van het Arsenal des Pompiers is opgenomen in de aanvullende inventaris van historische monumenten en werd in 1902 gebouwd door de architect Eugène-Edouard Avard. De brandweer van Dreux gebruikte het als basis tot 1961. In de jaren zestig werd het omgebouwd tot een overdekte markt, nadat aan weerszijden van het gebouw twee extra vleugels waren toegevoegd. Wegens de verplaatsing van de overdekte markt naar een nieuw gebouw is deze sinds 2002 onbezet. Het ar(t)senaal, waarvan de T het symbool is, heeft nu een nieuwe functie, nauw verbonden met hedendaagse kunststromingen.

El edificio original del Arsenal des Pompiers está inscrito en el inventario suplementario de monumentos históricos y fue construido en 1902 por el arquitecto Eugène-Edouard Avard. El cuerpo de bomberos de Dreux lo utilizó como base hasta 1961, cuando se convirtió en un mercado cubierto en la década de 1960 tras añadirse dos alas adicionales a cada lado del edificio. Debido al traslado del mercado cubierto a un nuevo edificio, está desocupado desde 2002. El ar(t)senal, del que la T es el símbolo, ha adquirido ahora una nueva función, estrechamente vinculada a los movimientos artísticos contemporáneos.
