L'ancien Tribunal de Vouziers – Vouziers

Construit sous le Second Empire dans un style antique, il fut inauguré le 14 Août 1859. On note le côté rectangulaire, la symétrie, la monumentalité de l'édifice qui est précédé d'un portique tétrastyle (4 colonnes de front) dont les colonnes doriques soutiennent un fronton triangulaire.Le poète Paul Verlaine y fut jugé le 24 mars 1885 et condamné à une peine d'un mois de prison pour violence envers sa mère. Le tribunal a cessé ses activités en juillet 2009. Après avoir accueilli des activités d'entreprises, le bâtiment est désormais inoccupé.

Built in the antique style of the Second Empire, it was inaugurated on August 14, 1859. The rectangular, symmetrical, monumental building is preceded by a tetrastyle portico (4 columns abreast) whose Doric columns support a triangular pediment. The poet Paul Verlaine was tried here on March 24, 1885, and sentenced to one month's imprisonment for violence against his mother. The courthouse ceased operations in July 2009. The building was once used by companies, but is now vacant.

Das Gebäude wurde während des Zweiten Kaiserreichs im antiken Stil erbaut und am 14. August 1859 eingeweiht. Der Dichter Paul Verlaine wurde hier am 24. März 1885 vor Gericht gestellt und wegen Gewalt gegen seine Mutter zu einer einmonatigen Gefängnisstrafe verurteilt. Das Gericht stellte seine Tätigkeit im Juli 2009 ein. Nachdem das Gebäude zuvor unternehmerische Aktivitäten beherbergte, steht es nun leer.

De dichter Paul Verlaine werd hier op 24 maart 1885 berecht en veroordeeld tot een maand gevangenisstraf wegens geweld tegen zijn moeder. De rechtbank werd in juli 2009 opgeheven. Het gebouw werd ooit gebruikt door bedrijven, maar staat nu leeg.
