Jardin Montebello – Cherbourg-en-Cotentin

Ouvert en 1872, le jardin Montebello doit son existence à l'activité de la société d'horticulture fondée en 1844. À l'origine réservé à ses membres, il est maintenant ouvert au public. Par sa configuration, les diverses plantations exotiques qu'on y trouve et son petit chalet de briques à poutres apparentes, il témoigne du style du XIXème siècle. La ville de Cherbourg-Octeville est labellisée 4 Fleurs depuis 2004 et le parc Montebello est labellisé ÉcoJardin depuis 2013. Les chiens sont interdits dans le parc.

Opened in 1872, the Montebello garden owes the horticulture society (founded in 1844) for its existence. Originally reserved to members, it is now opened to public. Thanks to its configuration, the different exotic plants and its small cottage made of brick with exposed beams, this garden is a testimony of the 19th century style. The city of Cherbourg-Octeville is certified with “4 flowers” since 2004 and the garden is certified as eco-garden since 2013.

Der Montebello-Garten wurde 1872 eröffnet und verdankt seine Existenz der Tätigkeit der 1844 gegründeten Gartenbaugesellschaft. Ursprünglich war er den Mitgliedern vorbehalten, doch heute ist er für die Öffentlichkeit zugänglich. Mit seiner Anlage, den verschiedenen exotischen Bepflanzungen und dem kleinen Backsteinhäuschen mit Holzbalken ist er ein Beispiel für den Stil des 19. Jahrhunderts. Die Stadt Cherbourg-Octeville trägt seit 2004 das 4-Blumen-Label und der Montebello-Park seit 2013 das ÉcoJardin-Label. Hunde sind im Park verboten.

De tuin van Montebello werd geopend in 1872 en dankt zijn bestaan aan de tuinbouwvereniging die in 1844 werd opgericht. Oorspronkelijk was de tuin voorbehouden aan de leden, maar nu is hij open voor het publiek. Met zijn indeling, exotische beplanting en kleine bakstenen chalet met zichtbare balken is het een mooi voorbeeld van 19e-eeuws tuinontwerp. Cherbourg-Octeville heeft sinds 2004 het label 4 Fleurs en Parc Montebello heeft sinds 2013 het label ÉcoJardin. Honden zijn niet toegestaan in het park.
