Edifié en 1388, c'est un des plus anciens édifices de ce type existant encore en France. Sa charpente robuste supporte un toit à quatre pans couvert de laves bourguignonnes ou dalles calcaires (600 à 800 kg au m2), au cœur d'un centre historique formant un bel ensemble d'habitations (XVe au XVIIe s).
