La fontaine Saint-Jean se trouve près de l'ancienne gare de Lamothe, sur la rive de l'Eyre. Située sur un chemin de Saint-Jacques de Compostelle, il faut traverser un ruisseau (dit « craste » dans le langage du pays) qui longe la voie ferrée pour y aller. Cet édifice aujourd'hui restauré et conservé, a subi les outrages du temps. La fontaine est surmontée d'un petit édifice avec une niche sur laquelle on déchiffre les dates 1645 et 1650. Cette niche désormais vide abritait jusqu'en 1772 la statue de Saint-Jean, patron de Lamothe. Source de miracles et de guérisons, on y trouvait souvent des linges déposés par les malades, superstition assez répandue dans les Landes.

The Saint-Jean fountain is located near the old station of Lamothe, on the bank of the Eyre. Located on a road to Santiago de Compostela, you have to cross a stream (called "craste" in the language of the country) which runs along the railway line to get there. This building, now restored and preserved, has suffered the ravages of time. The fountain is surmounted by a small building with a niche on which the dates 1645 and 1650 can be deciphered. Until 1772, this now empty niche housed the statue of Saint-Jean, Lamothe's patron saint. A source of miracles and healings, there were often cloths deposited by the sick, a superstition quite common in the Landes.

Der Brunnen Saint-Jean befindet sich in der Nähe des alten Bahnhofs von Lamothe am Ufer des Flusses Eyre. Da er auf einem Jakobsweg liegt, muss man einen Bach (in der Landessprache "craste" genannt) überqueren, der entlang der Bahnlinie verläuft, um zu ihm zu gelangen. Dieses heute restaurierte und erhaltene Gebäude hatte den Zahn der Zeit zu spüren bekommen. Auf dem Brunnen steht ein kleines Gebäude mit einer Nische, auf der man die Jahreszahlen 1645 und 1650 entziffern kann. De Saint Jean fontein staat bij het oude station van Lamothe, aan de oever van de rivier de Eyre. Gelegen op een route naar Santiago de Compostela, moet men een beek oversteken (in de taal van het land "craste" genoemd) die langs de spoorlijn loopt om er te komen. Dit gebouw, nu gerestaureerd en bewaard, heeft geleden onder de tand des tijds. Bovenop de fontein staat een gebouwtje met een nis waarop de jaartallen 1645 en 1650 te ontcijferen zijn. Situado en el camino de Santiago de Compostela, para llegar a él hay que cruzar un arroyo (llamado "craste" en el idioma del país) que discurre junto a la línea de ferrocarril. Este edificio, ahora restaurado y conservado, ha sufrido los estragos del tiempo. La fuente está coronada por un pequeño edificio con una hornacina en la que se pueden descifrar las fechas de 1645 y 1650. Esta hornacina, actualmente vacía, albergó la estatua de Saint-Jean, patrón de Lamothe, hasta 1772. Fuente de milagros y curaciones, a menudo se utilizaba para guardar los paños que dejaban los enfermos, una superstición bastante extendida en las Landas.

La fontana di Saint-Jean si trova vicino alla vecchia stazione di Lamothe, sulla riva del fiume Eyre. Situato sul percorso per Santiago de Compostela, per raggiungerlo bisogna attraversare un torrente (chiamato "craste" nella lingua del paese) che costeggia la linea ferroviaria. Questo edificio, oggi restaurato e conservato, ha subito le ingiurie del tempo. La fontana è sormontata da un piccolo edificio con una nicchia su cui si possono decifrare le date 1645 e 1650. Questa nicchia, oggi vuota, ha ospitato fino al 1772 la statua di Saint-Jean, patrono di Lamothe. Fonte di miracoli e guarigioni, veniva spesso utilizzata per contenere i panni lasciati dai malati, una superstizione piuttosto diffusa nelle Lande.
