Eglise Sainte-Croix – Parthenay

Classée Monument Historique, l'église Sainte-Croix a été fondée par les seigneurs de Parthenay, à proximité de leur château, dans le quartier de la citadelle. Fondée à la fin du XIème siècle, cette église aurait accueilli des reliques de la Vraie Croix. La façade sculptée a disparu au XVIIIème siècle alors que les deux portes latérales conservent leur cachet roman. Au XVème siècle, Arthur de Richemont fit construire la tour-clocher qui a perdu sa flèche depuis lors.

A classified historic monument, the Sainte-Croix church was founded by the lords of Parthenay, close to their castle, in the citadel district. Founded at the end of the 11th century, the church is said to have hosted the relics of the "True Cross". While the sculpted facade disappeared over the 18th century, the two side doors have retained their pronounced Roman character. During the 15th century, Arthur de Richemont spearheaded construction of the bell tower, which has long since lost its arrow.

Die unter Denkmalschutz stehende Kirche Sainte-Croix wurde von den Lehnsherren von Parthenay nahe ihrer Burg im Viertel der Zitadelle gebaut. Erbaut gegen Ende des 11. Jh. soll sie die Reliquien des Heiligen Kreuzes beherbergt haben. Während die skulptureiche Fassade im 18. Jh. verschwand, bewahren die beiden Seitenportale ihren romanischen Charakter. Im 15. Jh. ließ Arthur von Richemont den Glockenturm erbauen, der inzwischen seine Spitze verloren hat.

De Sainte-Croix kerk is gesticht door de Heren van Parthenay, vlakbij hun kasteel in de Citadelle-buurt. Hij is vermeld op de lijst van historische monumenten. De kerk bezat in die tijd hoogstwaarschijnlijk een aantal relieken van 'La Vraie Croix' (het echte kruis). De gebeeldhouwde voorgevel is verdwenen in de 18e eeuw, maar de twee zijportalen hebben hun romaanse stijl behouden. In de 15e eeuw laat Arthur de Richemond een klokkentoren bouwen, waarvan tegenwoordig de spits ontbreekt.

Clasificada como Monumento Histórico, la iglesia Sainte-Croix fue fundada por los Señores de Parthenay, cerca de su castillo, en el barrio de la Ciudadela. Fundada a finales del siglo XI, esta iglesia habría acogido a las reliquias de la Verdadera Cruz. La fachada esculpida desapareció en el siglo XVIII mientras que las dos puertas laterales conservan su estilo románico. En el siglo XV, Arthur de Richemond hizo construir la torre campanario que perdió más tarde su flecha.

Classificata come monumento storico, la chiesa di Sainte-Croix fu fondata dai signori di Parthenay, vicino al loro castello, nel quartiere della cittadella.
