Eglise Saint-Omer – Verchin

S’il existe au village une curiosité qui ne peut échapper à personne c’est bien celle de cette église qui possède un clocher vrillé des plus remarquables. Ce clocher tordu est le fruit d'une erreur : quand il a fallut changer la charpente en 1850, on utilisa un bois trop vert qui, en séchant, vrilla pour donner cette forme. L'église Saint-Omer, Monument historique, fut principalement élevée au XVIIe siècle dans le style gothique flamboyant tardif, typique en Artois.

If there is a curiosity in the village that no one can fail to notice, it is the curiosity of this church with its remarkable twisted bell tower. This twisted bell tower is the result of a mistake: when it was necessary to change the framework in 1850, too green wood was used which, when drying, twisted to give this shape. Se c'è una curiosità del villaggio che non può mancare è la chiesa, che ha un notevole campanile contorto.
