Eglise Saint-Cosme – Chalon-sur-Saône

Le village de Saint Cosme, jadis indépendant, connut un développement fulgurant à partir de la fin du XVIIIe siècle du fait du passage, sur son territoire, du canal du Centre. En 1854, l’annexion du village à Chalon étant inéluctable, au grand dam de ses habitants, le conseil municipal décida, avant de disparaitre, de mettre en œuvre l’édification d’une nouvelle église, installée entre la mairie et l’école de filles, face au canal du Centre, qui sera comblé en partie en 1959. Construite entre 1854 et 1866 en style néogothique par l'architecte Lazare Narjoux, l'église possède de très beaux vitraux dus à l’atelier parisien de la famille Mauméjean et réalisés dans les années 1930. (Espace Patrimoine). Les frères Mauméjean ont aussi réalisé les vitraux de la chapelle néo-byzantine de la Colombière à Paray-le-Monial.

The village of Saint Cosme, formerly independent, experienced a rapid development from the end of the 18th century due to the passage of the Canal du Centre on its territory. In 1854, the annexation of the village to Chalon being inevitable, to the great displeasure of its inhabitants, the town council decided, before disappearing, to implement the construction of a new church, installed between the town hall and the girls' school, facing the Canal du Centre, which will be partially filled in 1959. Built between 1854 and 1866 in neo-Gothic style by the architect Lazare Narjoux, the church has very beautiful stained glass windows made by the Parisian workshop of the Mauméjean family in the 1930s. (Espace Patrimoine). The Mauméjean brothers also made the stained glass windows of the neo-Byzantine chapel of La Colombière in Paray-le-Monial.

Das ehemals unabhängige Dorf Saint Cosme erlebte ab Ende des 18. Jahrhunderts eine rasante Entwicklung, da der Canal du Centre durch sein Gebiet führte. Da der Anschluss des Dorfes an Chalon zum Leidwesen seiner Bewohner unausweichlich war, beschloss der Gemeinderat 1854, eine neue Kirche zu bauen, die zwischen dem Rathaus und der Mädchenschule gegenüber dem Canal du Centre errichtet werden sollte, der 1959 teilweise zugeschüttet wurde, bevor er verschwand. Die Kirche wurde zwischen 1854 und 1866 vom Architekten Lazare Narjoux im neugotischen Stil erbaut. Sie besitzt wunderschöne Glasfenster, die von der Pariser Werkstatt der Familie Mauméjean stammen und in den 1930er Jahren angefertigt wurden. (Espace Patrimoine). Die Brüder Mauméjean schufen auch die Glasfenster der neobyzantinischen Kapelle La Colombière in Paray-le-Monial.

Het dorp Saint Cosme, dat ooit onafhankelijk was, maakte vanaf het einde van de 18e eeuw een snelle ontwikkeling door dankzij de doorgang van het Canal du Centre door zijn grondgebied. El pueblo de Saint Cosme, que fue independiente, experimentó un rápido desarrollo a partir de finales del siglo XVIII debido al paso del Canal del Centro por su territorio. En 1854, siendo inevitable la anexión del pueblo a Chalon, para gran disgusto de sus habitantes, el ayuntamiento decidió, antes de desaparecer, construir una nueva iglesia, instalada entre el ayuntamiento y la escuela de niñas, frente al Canal del Centro, que fue parcialmente rellenado en 1959. Construida entre 1854 y 1866 en estilo neogótico por el arquitecto Lazare Narjoux, la iglesia cuenta con bellísimas vidrieras realizadas por el taller parisino de la familia Mauméjean en los años 30. (Espace Patrimoine). Los hermanos Mauméjean también realizaron las vidrieras de la capilla neobizantina de La Colombière en Paray-le-Monial.

Il villaggio di Saint Cosme, un tempo indipendente, ha conosciuto un rapido sviluppo a partire dalla fine del XVIII secolo grazie al passaggio del Canal du Centre attraverso il suo territorio. Nel 1854, essendo inevitabile l'annessione del villaggio a Chalon, con grande disappunto dei suoi abitanti, il consiglio comunale decise, prima di scomparire, di costruire una nuova chiesa, installata tra il municipio e la scuola femminile, di fronte al Canal du Centre, che è stato parzialmente riempito nel 1959. Costruita tra il 1854 e il 1866 in stile neogotico dall'architetto Lazare Narjoux, la chiesa conserva bellissime vetrate realizzate dal laboratorio parigino della famiglia Mauméjean negli anni Trenta (Espace Patrimoine). I fratelli Mauméjean hanno realizzato anche le vetrate della cappella neobizantina di La Colombière a Paray-le-Monial.
