Château de la Faye – Auriac-du-Périgord

Le château de la Faye qui fut la résidence des seigneurs d'Auriac du XVème au XVIIIème siècle a été construit à partir d'une ancienne tour de guet du système d'alerte et de défense organisé au XIIIème siècle par Alphonse de Poitiers pour protéger la châtellenie de Montignac des raids Anglais installés à Thenon. Ce "donjon" fut accosté au XIVème ou XVème siècle de deux tours massives qui ont fait de la Faye, pendant la guerre de cent ans, une maison forte importante. L'ensemble forme la façade sud du château actuel.
