Chapelle Sainte Croix

La Chapelle Sainte Croix est située au sommet d'une barre rocheuse et veille sur la ville d'Auriol depuis 1554, date à laquelle elle a été construite. Elle a été par la suite partiellement démolie au cours de l'hiver 1793 puis reconstruite en 1831. Dès 1563, on été érigé 14 oratoires qui ponctuaient le chemin d'accès à la colline sur laquelle trône la Chapelle Sainte Croix. Chaque oratoire décrivait la station qu'il représentait, peinte sur un tableau de bois, posé au fond de la niche.

The Sainte Croix Chapel is located at the top of a rocky bar and has watched over the town of Auriol since 1554, when it was built. It was then partially demolished in the winter of 1793 and rebuilt in 1831. As early as 1563, 14 oratories were erected along the access road to the hill on which the Chapel of Saint Croix stands. Each oratory described the station it represented, painted on a wooden board, placed at the bottom of the niche.
