Chapelle Saint Jouan des landes

Dressée au milieu d'une clairière, la chapelle est encore enclose de son mur de pierres sèches. Elle présente une statue de saint Jean dans le chœur et deux vitraux dans la nef. Triple arcade en plein cintre destinée à abriter les confessionnaux. A l'extérieur trônent deux statues  : une de saint Jean le Baptiste et une de saint Jean d'Apôtre. La légende raconte qu'au début du XIXe siècle les villageois voyant leur chapelle en ruine décidèrent de déloger la statue de Saint Jean. Au beau milieu du voyage le cheval requis s'arrêta net et refusa de faire un pas de plus. L'un après l'autre, ses congénères appelés à la rescousse se montrèrent aussi récalcitrants et s'immobilisèrent au même endroit avec la même détermination. Comprenant que le Saint ne voulait pas résider au chef lieu de Saint-Malon, un certain Cosnier emporta chez lui la statue sur ses épaules. Il la rétablit dans sa chapelle dès qu'elle fut restaurée.

Built in the middle of a clearing, the chapel is still enclosed by its dry stone wall. It has a statue of Saint John in the choir and two stained glass windows in the nave. Triple semicircular archway designed to house the confessionals. On the outside, two statues are enthroned: one of Saint John the Baptist and one of Saint John the Apostle. Legend has it that at the beginning of the 19th century the villagers saw their chapel in ruins and decided to dislodge the statue of Saint John. In the middle of the journey the required horse stopped dead in its tracks and refused to take another step. One after the other, his fellow horses, called to the rescue, were just as recalcitrant and stopped in the same place with the same determination. Understanding that the Saint did not want to reside in the capital of Saint-Malon, a certain Cosnier took the statue on his shoulders. As soon as it was restored, he put it back in his chapel.

Die Kapelle steht inmitten einer Lichtung und ist noch von einer Trockenmauer umgeben. Im Chor befindet sich eine Statue des Heiligen Johannes und im Kirchenschiff zwei Glasfenster. Ein dreifacher Rundbogen dient zur Aufnahme der Beichtstühle. An der Außenseite thronen zwei Statuen: eine von Johannes dem Täufer und eine von Johannes dem Apostel. Der Legende nach beschlossen die Dorfbewohner Anfang des 19. Jahrhunderts, als sie ihre Kapelle in Trümmern sahen, die Statue des Heiligen Johannes umzusiedeln. Mitten auf der Reise blieb das erforderliche Pferd abrupt stehen und weigerte sich, noch einen weiteren Schritt zu machen. Auch die anderen Pferde, die zu Hilfe gerufen wurden, waren nicht bereit und blieben mit der gleichen Entschlossenheit an der gleichen Stelle stehen. Ein gewisser Cosnier verstand, dass der Heilige nicht im Hauptort Saint-Malon wohnen wollte, und nahm die Statue auf seinen Schultern mit nach Hause. Er stellte sie in seiner Kapelle wieder auf, sobald diese restauriert worden war.
