Description

In traditional Chinese medicine, each emotion is associated with an organ, a movement, and a direction within the body. Anger rises. Fear descends. Anxiety knots. Sadness constricts. This workshop kicks off the season with a theme that runs throughout the year: learning to understand what is happening within ourselves, rather than simply enduring it. We’ll explore the five emotions through movement, breath, and exercises drawn from seasonal Daoyin. The season is fall; the element is Metal; the lesson is that of the tree, which lets its leaves fall without resistance.
