Wird er es schaffen, sich gegen Douglas und Carrie, zwei unbestechliche Polizisten, die ihn zu Fall bringen wollen, durchzusetzen? Die Chaos-Theorie besagt, dass der Flügelschlag eines Schmetterlings in Sizilien einen Sturm in Kansas auslösen kann. Die vier Protagonisten werden dies am eigenen Leib erfahren, eingeschlossen in einer Zeitschleife, die wie ein irrer Sturm aussieht. Verdedigd door de oneerlijke advocaat van de familie, zal hij de herhaalde aanvallen overleven van Douglas en Carrie, twee onomkoopbare agenten die vastbesloten zijn om hem ten val te brengen? De chaostheorie zegt dat de vleugelslag van een vlinder op Sicilië een storm kan veroorzaken in Kansas.
