TATOUAGES ET PRISONS, DES MURS SUR LA PEAU – 02-04-2025 – Toulouse

Le tatouage carcéral, du "milieu", est représenté de façon chronologique, des années 1900 à nos jours, via divers media, fresques, dessins, photographies, publications… enrichi de pratiques contemporaines. L'exposition présente une exploration des liens qui ont uni et unissent encore le tatouage et les prisons, aussi bien en France qu'à l'international. Bien que le tatouage carcéral ait évolué avec le temps, cette pratique est toujours répandue en prison, comme en atteste la pratique des "panos" au Mexique notamment. L'exposition questionne aussi le rapport des artistes-tatoueurs modernes avec les codes et symboles du tatouage carcéral et l'influence sur leur travail. Enfin, des œuvres de plasticiens marquées par les notions d'enfermement et de tatouages viennent compléter ce panorama, faisant du tatouage un sujet universel. Prison tattooing, from the "middle", is represented chronologically, from the 1900s to the present day, through various media, frescoes, drawings, photographs, publications… enriched by contemporary practices. Although prison tattooing has evolved over time, the practice is still widespread in prisons, as evidenced by the practice of "panos" in Mexico. Die Gefängnis-Tätowierung, das "Milieu", wird chronologisch von den Jahren 1900 bis heute dargestellt, über verschiedene Medien, Fresken, Zeichnungen, Fotografien, Publikationen… angereichert mit zeitgenössischen Praktiken. Die Ausstellung zeigt eine Erkundung der Verbindungen, die Tätowierungen und Gefängnisse sowohl in Frankreich als auch international verbinden und noch immer verbinden. Obwohl sich die Gefängnistätowierung im Laufe der Zeit verändert hat, ist diese Praxis in Gefängnissen immer noch weit verbreitet, wie die Praxis der "Panos" insbesondere in Mexiko belegt. Die Ausstellung hinterfragt auch die Beziehung moderner Tätowierkünstler zu den Codes und Symbolen der Gefängnistätowierung und den Einfluss auf ihre Arbeit.
