Projection : Soundtrack to a coup d’État – Zébrures d'Automne – 29-09-2025 – Limoges

Dans le cadre des Zébrures d'Automne, festival des Francophonies, assistez à la projection du film documentaire "Soundtrack to Coup d'Etat", réalisé par Johan Grimonprez. Un matin de février 1961, la chanteuse Abbey Lincoln et le batteur Max Roach font irruption avec une soixantaine de militants noirs au Conseil de sécurité des Nations unies pour protester contre l’assassinat de Patrice Lumumba, Premier ministre du Congo nouvellement indépendant. Les manifestants hurlent et donnent des coups de poing, claquent leurs talons et provoquent un affrontement avec un service de sécurité non préparé, et cela sous le regard choqué des diplomates. Il y aura une rencontre avec In Koli Jean Bofane à l'issue de la projection.

As part of Zébrures d'Automne, the Francophonies festival, attend the screening of the documentary film "Soundtrack to Coup d'Etat", directed by Johan Grimonprez. One morning in February 1961, singer Abbey Lincoln and drummer Max Roach burst into the United Nations Security Council with 60 black activists to protest the assassination of Patrice Lumumba, Prime Minister of the newly independent Congo. The demonstrators shouted and punched, clicked their heels and provoked a confrontation with an unprepared security service, all under the shocked gaze of the diplomats. There will be a meeting with In Koli Jean Bofane after the screening.
