"Backstage" is a quirky, empathetic tale of friendship between two performers with thousands of miles on their odometer. The action takes place in the dressing room an hour before a duo of acrobatic portés take to the stage. In this moment of intense preparation, we discover a voluble voltigeuse and a porter in search of charisma. The writing oscillates between (extraordinary) warm-up routines and digressions more or less related to the urgency of the approaching show.
