Description

The Médoc-Vignoble Tourist Office informs you:
Parler pointu tells the story of the gradual abandonment of regional languages and accents, and the intimate and political implications of this loss. In Benjamin?s family, everyone speaks ?avé l?accent? except him. He speaks pointu, in other words, with the accent of power. Until the 40s, half the country spoke a language other than French. If a child spoke in Provençal dialect, his teacher would hit him over the head with a brick, if not with a hammer. Benjamin Tholozan recounts this linguicide story with emotion, humor and boundless energy. The actor takes us back in time to the origins of the French language.
