Exposition "la sélection du public" au musée Regards de Provence – 04-04-2025 – Marseille 2e Arrondissement

C’est une première pour le Musée Regards de Provence que d’impliquer aussi activement son public dans la composition d’une exposition. Cette participation favorise un engagement accru de la part des visiteurs, dont les regards sont riches d’enseignements et de sens. Pour définir quelques axes de lecture au sein d’une sélection qui, dans son principe-même, est nécessairement éclectique/hétérogène, le parcours est organisé suivant quelques thématiques majeures. Ce voyage artistique et historique autour d’une partie de la collection dévoile ainsi des paysages de Marseille, de la côte méditerranéenne et de la campagne provençale. L’accent est mis sur la diversité des styles et des mouvements, des paysagistes naturalistes aux coloristes fauves et expressionnistes, tout en incluant des œuvres contemporaines. It's a first for the Musée Regards de Provence to involve its public so actively in the composition of an exhibition. This participation encourages greater involvement on the part of visitors, whose views are rich in meaning and insight. In order to define a few key themes within a selection which, in principle, is necessarily eclectic/heterogeneous, the tour is organized according to a few major themes. This artistic and historical journey around part of the collection reveals landscapes of Marseille, the Mediterranean coast and the Provencal countryside. Emphasis is placed on the diversity of styles and movements, from naturalist landscape painters to Fauvist and Expressionist colorists, while also including contemporary works. This dialogue between eras highlights the evolution of the artistic view of the South, between realism, emotion and modern interpretations, paying tribute to the region's rich heritage and the Regards de Provence Collection. The first section of the exhibition focuses on Marseille, its port life and daily life, through the works of major artists such as Gudin, Olive and Marquet, who captured the many facets of the Phocaean city. These paintings, oscillating between meticulous, almost photographic descriptions and more expressive, colorful visions, transport us to a Marseille of yesteryear, marked by its port, its trades and its unique light. In parallel, the section dedicated to the Mediterranean coast explores the fascinating link between sea and coast through the ages. Artists such as Friesz, Seyssaud, Verdilhan and Valtat stand out, immortalizing seascapes in compositions ranging from Romanticism to Fauvism, offering a veritable ode to the changing, timeless beauty of the Mediterranean. Diese Beteiligung fördert ein größeres Engagement der Besucher, deren Blicke lehrreich und bedeutungsvoll sind. Um einige Leseachsen innerhalb einer Auswahl zu definieren, die von ihrem Prinzip her notwendigerweise eklektisch/heterogen ist, wird der Rundgang nach einigen Hauptthemen organisiert. Diese künstlerische und historische Reise durch einen Teil der Sammlung zeigt Landschaften von Marseille, der Mittelmeerküste und der provenzalischen Landschaft. Der Schwerpunkt liegt auf der Vielfalt der Stile und Bewegungen, von naturalistischen Landschaftsmalern bis hin zu fauvistischen und expressionistischen Koloristen, wobei auch zeitgenössische Werke einbezogen werden. Dieser Dialog zwischen den Epochen beleuchtet die Entwicklung des künstlerischen Blicks auf den Süden zwischen Realismus, Emotion und modernen Interpretationen und würdigt das reiche Erbe der Region und die Sammlung Regards de Provence. Der erste Teil der Ausstellung befasst sich mit Marseille, seinem Hafenleben und seinem Alltag, anhand von Werken bedeutender Künstler wie Gudin, Olive und Marquet, die die vielen Facetten der Stadt an der Seine festgehalten haben.
