Le pinceau et l'objectif Une exposition de Frédéric Depalle et Annie Patterson. "Le sujet que nous vous proposons constitue en une mise en commun de nos passions pour les plantes, et plus particulièrement ici pour les Iris de la section Oncocyclus, dont certaines espèces font partie des plantes les plus rares du monde, avec des répartitions géographiques de seulement quelques milliers de m2. Ces iris poussent dans le Caucase et au Moyen-Orient, d’où leur appellation commune d’Iris du levant. Nous travaillons avec Annie depuis 3 ans sur ce projet alliant aquarelles et photos et avons choisi d’exposer 13 espèces ou un peu moins selon la place, chacune illustrée par une aquarelle botanique, une photo ‘in situ’, et une photo de fleur en studio ; ce choix pour permettre d’apprécier différentes approches de la plante et d’aborder une partie du travail des botanistes."

The brush and the lens An exhibition by Frédéric Depalle and Annie Patterson. "The subject we are proposing to you is a pooling of our passions for plants, and more particularly here for irises of the Oncocyclus section, some species of which are among the rarest plants in the world, with geographical distributions of only a few thousand m2. These irises grow in the Caucasus and the Middle East, hence their common name, Iris du levant. Annie and I have been working on this watercolor and photo project for 3 years, and have chosen to exhibit 13 species, or a little less depending on space, each illustrated by a botanical watercolor, an ?in situ? photo, and a studio photo of the flower; this choice was made to allow us to appreciate different approaches to the plant, and to touch on some of the work of botanists."

"Das Thema, das wir Ihnen vorschlagen, stellt eine Zusammenführung unserer Leidenschaften für Pflanzen dar, und hier insbesondere für die Iris der Sektion Oncocyclus, von denen einige Arten zu den seltensten Pflanzen der Welt gehören, mit einer geografischen Verbreitung von nur einigen tausend Quadratmetern. "Het onderwerp dat we u voorstellen is een bundeling van onze passies voor planten, en meer bepaald hier voor irissen van de Oncocyclus-sectie, waarvan sommige soorten tot de zeldzaamste planten ter wereld behoren, met een geografische verspreiding van slechts enkele duizenden m2. Deze irissen groeien in de Kaukasus en het Midden-Oosten, vandaar hun algemene naam Iris van de Levant. Annie en ik hebben de afgelopen 3 jaar aan dit project gewerkt door aquarellen en foto's te combineren, en we hebben ervoor gekozen om 13 soorten tentoon te stellen, of iets minder afhankelijk van de beschikbare ruimte, elk geïllustreerd door een botanische aquarel, een foto 'in situ' en een studiofoto van de bloem. Deze keuze is gemaakt om verschillende benaderingen van de plant te kunnen waarderen en om een deel van het werk van botanici te verkennen

"El tema que les proponemos es una puesta en común de nuestras pasiones por las plantas, y más concretamente aquí por los iris de la sección Oncocyclus, algunas de cuyas especies figuran entre las plantas más raras del mundo, con distribuciones geográficas de sólo unos miles de m2. Estos lirios crecen en el Cáucaso y Oriente Medio, de ahí su nombre común de Iris de Levante. Annie y yo trabajamos en este proyecto combinando acuarelas y fotos desde hace 3 años, y hemos elegido exponer 13 especies, o un poco menos según el espacio disponible, cada una ilustrada por una acuarela botánica, una foto "in situ" y una foto de estudio de la flor; esta elección se hizo para poder apreciar diferentes enfoques de la planta y tocar algunos de los trabajos de los botánicos"

"Il tema che vi proponiamo è un'unione delle nostre passioni per le piante, e più in particolare per gli iris della sezione Oncocyclus, alcune specie delle quali sono tra le piante più rare al mondo, con distribuzioni geografiche di poche migliaia di m2. Questi iris crescono nel Caucaso e nel Medio Oriente, da cui il nome comune di Iris del Levante. Annie e io abbiamo lavorato a questo progetto combinando acquerelli e foto negli ultimi tre anni e abbiamo scelto di esporre 13 specie, o poco meno a seconda dello spazio disponibile, ciascuna illustrata da un acquerello botanico, una foto "in situ" e una foto in studio del fiore. Questa scelta è stata fatta per permetterci di apprezzare diversi approcci alla pianta e di esplorare alcuni dei lavori dei botanici
