The changing working conditions and status of women in family farming, from the Second World War to the present day.
Christian Malon, a former teacher and photographer, has devoted almost 60 years to rural photography. In this exhibition, he focuses on women farmers.
Christian Malon, born in Condat, has been taking care since his early days as a photographer in the 1960s to capture in images the memory of the farming world, its daily life and its evolution. Interested in women's work in this predominantly male environment, he immortalized the essential work of these often invisible women, who contribute to the success of a lifelong farming project, long before the MeToo# movement. Today, some women are directly responsible for their farms, working alone or with their spouses, but the balance has shifted.
An attentive witness to the evolution of a world in the throes of change, Christian Malon has exhibited throughout France and beyond to evoke the world of agriculture, and his photographs are listed in leading museums (MUCEM Marseille, MPP Paris). "The mountains, 2025
