Jo Le Guen, a sailor from Brest, is renowned for his many ocean crossings by rowing boat. On September 16, 2025, he will be present to comment on a documentary retracing his attempt to cross the Pacific. In 2000, he set himself an ambitious challenge: to row solo from New Zealand to Cape Horn, without assistance, aboard his boat Keep it blue. The aim of the expedition was to raise awareness of ocean pollution. Unfortunately, after 60 days of sailing, he was forced to abandon due to an infection. On April 2, halfway through his journey, he was rescued by the cargo ship Palisser Bay, which then handed him over to the Chilean navy at the entrance to the Strait of Magellan. Hospitalized in Punta Arenas, he had eight toes amputated.
