Deux décennies après leur toute première collaboration, le singer-songwriter italo-britannique Piers Faccini et le virtuose malien de la kora, Ballaké Sissoko, reviennent avec un album enchanteur : Our Calling. Two decades after their very first collaboration, British-Italian singer-songwriter Piers Faccini and Malian kora virtuoso Ballaké Sissoko return with an enchanting album: Our Calling. This album offers a captivating dialogue between an instrumentalist at the peak of his art and a songwriter who is a master of words. Together, they create new forms of song with a delicacy that bridges continents and plays with traditions. Over the years, together they have explored new bridges between Mandingo traditions and British and Mediterranean folk song forms. Through ten finely-crafted tracks, Our Calling is a sonic and narrative ode to migration in all its forms: Whether plant migration, like a seed carried by the wind; bird migration, like the nightingale migrating between West Africa and Europe with the passing of the seasons; or human migration, through the centuries and the trade routes that have fostered the sharing of musical styles and rhythms.

Zwei Jahrzehnte nach ihrer allerersten Zusammenarbeit melden sich der italienisch-britische Singer-Songwriter Piers Faccini und der malische Kora-Virtuose Ballaké Sissoko mit einem zauberhaften Album zurück: Our Calling. Dieses Album bietet einen fesselnden Dialog zwischen einem Instrumentalisten auf dem Höhepunkt seiner Kunst und einem Songwriter, der ein Goldschmied der Worte ist.
