Du geste fluide avec le pinceau qui effleure le papier à celui de la main qui façonne la terre, est né un duo d’artiste en toute complémentarité, Claire Briant et Izumi Kohama n’en sont pas à leur première exposition en commun. Ces artistes installées en Bretagne parlent le même le langage, entre matière céramique et matière picturale, leurs techniques dialoguent, celle de la cuisson au feu de bois côtoie la légère et délicate calligraphie. La couleur des émaux contraste avec les noirs profonds des encres. From the fluid gesture of the brush brushing the paper to that of the hand shaping the clay, a complementary duo of artists is born. Claire Briant and Izumi Kohama have had more than one exhibition together. These artists, based in Brittany, speak the same language, between ceramic and pictorial materials, their techniques in dialogue, wood-firing alongside light, delicate calligraphy.
