Pas de place pour l’ennui ici : cette soirée célèbre le foisonnement musical brestois, tous styles confondus. Rock, pop, rap, électro… l’éclectisme est roi, l’énergie locale déborde. Au programme : – Medusa Glow : C'est l’association de 3 rappeurs/ beatmakers de Brest et Concarneau : FL-How, E.One et Tideux. Une complicité forte qui s’est traduite par de nombreuses collaborations depuis une quinzaine d’années, échanges de prods, featurings, appartenance au mêmes collectifs. Influencés par l’école de Buffalo, le producteur Alchemist et le renouveau du boom bap du milieu des années 2010, portés par la même passion viscérale pour les instrumentales massives, dans un esprit d’émulation et de partage, les trois artistes se réunissent en 2023 avec de l’envie de pousser plus loin leur rap. Ils commencent alors la réalisation d’un album à la production exigeante, à base de samples mélodieux, groovy, électriques, aux BPM ralentis, laissant la place aux respirations de flows soignés et nonchalants. Un rap qui revendique son caractère mélomane et puise son inspiration aussi bien dans le son des années 60, 70 que dans la production ultra-contemporaine. Introspectifs, sensibles, et dans le même temps combatifs, les textes mettent en scène une recherche de lumière, d’espérance, dans un contexte social sombre et anxiogène. L’amitié, le rapport à la nature et aux autres, les relations amoureuses, la passion musicale, le militantisme, l’équilibre intérieur et le dépassement de soi : des thèmes qui témoignent du quotidien de quarantenaires à l’écoute. A la manière des créatures bioluminescentes des abysses, une poésie radicale qui éclaire son environnement par sa propre énergie. – La Lucha Libre : Brit-Rock incisif et pop foutraque, made in Brest Depuis 2012, il trace sa route quelque part entre Brest et Manchester, entre ironie mordante et élégance mélodique. Groupe de scène autant que de studio, ils mêlent héritage brit-pop (Bowie, Pulp, Suede) – normal, avec un chanteur anglais – à l’énergie alternative (Pixies, Queens of the Stone Age), sans jamais renier leur goût pour l’absurde, le football, et les hymnes pour losers magnifiques. Initialement (un peu) connu pour ses chansons-hommages décalées (Saint Bruno Grougi, George Best), le groupe a fait évoluer sa formule : moins de masques de catcheurs, plus de fond – mais toujours cette signature entre le grave et le grotesque. Après Mokusatsu (2020), pivot vers un son plus organique, leur nouvel album Songs From Bedlam (2025) assume un virage plus intime et politique : envolées post-rock, ballades spleenétiques et clins d’œil orwelliens, avec des titres comme Coming So Fast, Banger for Boomer ou So Still. – Lady Soul and The Butter Kids : Un groupe de soul issu de la pointe Finistère, mêlant l’énergie brute des cuivres, la chaleur du clavier vintage, la profondeur d’une section rythmique groove et la voix puissante d’une chanteuse inspirée par les grandes dames du genre (Amy Winehouse, Etta James, Alicia Keys). A rap that asserts its music-loving character, drawing its inspiration from the sounds of the 60s and 70s as well as ultra-contemporary production. Introspective, sensitive and at the same time combative, the lyrics portray a search for light and hope in a gloomy, anxiety-inducing social context. Friendship, relationships with nature and others, love affairs, musical passion, militancy, inner balance and self-transcendence: these are the themes that reflect the daily lives of forty-somethings who are listening. In den letzten 15 Jahren haben sie immer wieder zusammengearbeitet, Prods ausgetauscht, Featurings gemacht und in denselben Kollektiven mitgewirkt. Beeinflusst von der Buffalo-Schule, dem Produzenten Alchemist und der Wiederbelebung des Bap-Booms Mitte der 2010er Jahre, getragen von derselben Leidenschaft für massive Instrumentals und einem Geist der Emulation und des Teilens, kommen die drei Künstler 2023 mit dem Wunsch zusammen, ihren Rap noch weiter zu treiben. Sie begannen mit der Arbeit an einem Album mit einer anspruchsvollen Produktion, die auf melodiösen, groovigen und elektrischen Samples basiert, mit verlangsamten BPM, die Platz für die Atemzüge der gepflegten und nonchalanten Flows lassen.
