Né à Tarbes en 1953, peintre aquarelliste, il a le goût pour le dessin, les mots, les idées et le geste artistique. Autodidacte, il ouvre sa galerie en 2006. Illustrateur pour des éditeurs (Gallimard, Milan, Gulf Stream, Pin à crochets, Privat…),il donne aussi des cours à Tarbes. Dans des ambiances révélées de paysages, d'architectures ou de gens des Pyrénées. Philippe Lhez réouvre des lumières, peint "sur le motif", peaufine en atelier. Entre précision du dessin et fluidité d'aquarelle, sa technique hybride, sèche et humide, libère alors sur le papier blanc un effet jouissif de transparence aux reflets iridescents. Mais, l'artiste s'enfonce déjà dans le sous-bois à la rencontre de la lueur cachée de ses zones d'ombre…

Born in Tarbes in 1953, a watercolor painter, he has a taste for drawing, words, ideas and the artistic gesture. Self-taught, he opened his own gallery in 2006. Der 1953 in Tarbes geborene Aquarellmaler hat eine Vorliebe für Zeichnungen, Worte, Ideen und die künstlerische Geste. Als Autodidakt eröffnet er 2006 seine Galerie. Er ist Illustrator für verschiedene Verlage (Gallimard, Milan, Gulf Stream, Pin à crochets, Privat…) und gibt auch Kurse in Tarbes. In enthüllten Stimmungen von Landschaften, Architekturen oder Menschen aus den Pyrenäen. Philippe Lhez öffnet die Lichter neu, malt "auf dem Motiv" und verfeinert im Atelier. Zwischen der Präzision der Zeichnung und der Flüssigkeit des Aquarells setzt seine hybride Technik, trocken und nass, auf dem weißen Papier einen genussvollen Effekt der Transparenz mit schillernden Reflexen frei. Doch der Künstler begibt sich bereits ins Unterholz, um dem verborgenen Licht seiner Schattenseiten zu begegnen…
