Cette exposition retrace le parcours de deux artistes strasbourgeois, unis par leur passion et leur complicité. Formés à l’École des Arts décoratifs de Strasbourg, ils s’imposent dès les années 1950 sur la scène artistique parisienne et internationale. Herrmann explore la peinture, la laque et le dessin, tandis que Karcher allie peinture et restauration d’œuvres anciennes. Installés à Bischwiller, ils évoluent sans cesse au gré de leurs rencontres et de leur créativité. À travers leurs œuvres variées, l’exposition met en lumière un univers riche où tradition et modernité dialoguent, reflétant une vie dédiée à l’art et à l’émotion. This exhibition traces the careers of two Strasbourg artists, united by their passion and complicity. Trained at the École des Arts Décoratifs in Strasbourg, they made their mark on the Parisian and international art scene in the 1950s. Herrmann explored painting, lacquer and drawing, while Karcher combined painting with the restoration of antique works. Based in Bischwiller, they are constantly evolving through their encounters and creativity. Through their varied works, the exhibition highlights a rich universe where tradition and modernity interact, reflecting a life dedicated to art and emotion. Diese Ausstellung zeichnet den Werdegang zweier Straßburger Künstler nach, die durch ihre Leidenschaft und Komplizenschaft vereint sind. Beide wurden an der École des Arts décoratifs in Straßburg ausgebildet und setzten sich seit den 1950er Jahren in der Pariser und internationalen Kunstszene durch. Herrmann beschäftigte sich mit Malerei, Lack und Zeichnungen, während Karcher Malerei und die Restaurierung alter Kunstwerke miteinander verband. Sie leben in Bischwiller und entwickeln sich ständig weiter, je nach ihren Begegnungen und ihrer Kreativität.
