In reality, single-wheel Segways are delicate and vulnerable devices that were never meant to fall into their hands. Getting on and off while it’s moving, jumping on with a spin or a flip, spinning in place back and forth, crowding onto it in a column of three even though it’s rated for a maximum of 120 kg, rolling while balancing on their hands, performing arabesques on one foot—they’ll stop at nothing to make themselves interesting!

In „ExCENTRIQUES“ überraschen die Acrostiches immer wieder aufs Neue, während sie auf seltsamen elektrischen Einrädern – Einrad-Gyropods – stehen, die scheinbar von selbst vorwärtsrollen. Mit diesem modernen, schnittigen Gefährt haben sie ein völlig neues Experimentierfeld erschlossen, das ihren Talenten als Akrobaten und Jongleure gerecht wird. So wie sie sind, ist es ihnen gelungen, dieses individuelle, stabile, ruhige und entspannende Fortbewegungsmittel in etwas Kollektives, Unkontrollierbares, Gefährliches und Anstrengendes zu verwandeln. Tatsächlich sind einrädrige Segways empfindliche und hilflose Geräte, die keineswegs dafür bestimmt waren, in ihre Hände zu geraten. Aufsteigen und Absteigen während der Fahrt, mit einer Pirouette oder einem Salto darauf springen, auf der Stelle vorwärts und rückwärts fahren, sich zu dritt in einer Reihe darauf drängen, obwohl es für maximal 120 kg ausgelegt ist, auf den Händen balancieren, auf einem Bein Arabesken zeichnen – sie schrecken vor nichts zurück, um sich interessant zu machen!

In ExCENTRIQUES, balancerend op merkwaardige elektrische wielen – eenwielige gyropodes – die vanzelf lijken voort te bewegen, blijven de Acrostiches keer op keer verrassen. Op en af stappen terwijl het apparaat rijdt, erop springen met een pirouette of een salto, voor- en achteruit op de plaats blijven, er met z’n drieën in een rij op gaan staan terwijl het ontworpen is voor maximaal 120 kg, op hun handen in evenwicht rijden, arabesken maken op één voet: ze deinzen nergens voor terug om zichzelf interessant te maken!

Subirse y bajarse en marcha, saltar sobre él con una pirueta o un salto mortal, quedarse quieto en el sitio moviéndose hacia delante y hacia atrás, amontonarse en columna de tres personas cuando está diseñado para un máximo de 120 kg, rodar en equilibrio sobre las manos, dibujar arabescos sobre un pie… ¡No se detienen ante nada para llamar la atención!

Salire e scendere in corsa, saltarci sopra con una piroetta o un salto mortale, rimanere fermi sul posto muovendosi avanti e indietro, ammucchiarsi in colonna da tre mentre è progettato per un massimo di 120 kg, rotolare in equilibrio sulle mani, disegnare arabeschi su un piede: non si fermano davanti a nulla pur di rendersi interessanti!
