Musée Edmond Michelet – Brive-la-Gaillarde

Le musée est implanté dans la maison familiale d’Edmond Michelet, résistant et homme d’Etat (1899-1970). Son champ d’étude et ses collections concernent la seconde guerre mondiale, la Résistance et la Déportation, en France et en Corrèze. Il présente une collection importante d’affiches de propagande, qui constitue désormais la spécificité patrimoniale du musée qui propose une exposition permanente et accueille des expositions temporaires. Il reçoit le public individuel et scolaire, met à disposition son centre de documentation et d’archives pour toute recherche concernant son champ d’étude. Le musée organise par ailleurs des visites guidées de ses expositions temporaires et des ateliers pour enfants tout au long de l'année. Il participe à la Nuit européenne des musées en mai et les Journées européennes du patrimoine en septembre. Entrée libre et gratuite.

The museum is housed in the family home of resistance fighter and statesman Edmond Michelet (1899-1970). Its field of study and collections relate to the Second World War, the Resistance and the Deportation, in France and in Corrèze. The museum boasts a major collection of propaganda posters, which have become a distinctive feature of its heritage, with a permanent exhibition and temporary exhibitions. The museum is open to the general public and schools, and its documentation and archive center is available for research into its field of study. The museum also organizes guided tours of its temporary exhibitions and workshops for children throughout the year. It takes part in the European Museum Night in May and the European Heritage Days in September. Free admission.

Das Museum befindet sich im Familienhaus von Edmond Michelet, einem Widerstandskämpfer und Staatsmann (1899-1970). Seine Studien und Sammlungen befassen sich mit dem Zweiten Weltkrieg, dem Widerstand und der Deportation in Frankreich und der Corrèze. Das Museum verfügt über eine bedeutende Sammlung von Propagandaplakaten, die nunmehr das besondere Erbe des Museums darstellt, das eine Dauerausstellung bietet und Wechselausstellungen beherbergt. Het studiegebied en de collecties hebben betrekking op de Tweede Wereldoorlog, het verzet en de deportatie, in Frankrijk en in Corrèze. Het heeft een grote collectie propagandaposters, die nu het bijzondere erfgoed van het museum vormen, met een permanente tentoonstelling en tijdelijke tentoonstellingen.
