Immeuble Gangloff

Construit en 1905-1906 pour Henri Gangloff sur les plans de Louis Schwartz, sa façade est ornée d'une allégorie rappelant sa fonction d'origine de galerie d'art, librairie et magasin d'antiquité attribué au sculpteur Bartholdi (natif de Colmar et créateur de la Statue de la Liberté). Acquis par les frères Schlumpf, célèbres industriels mulhousiens à l'origine de la collection automobile du même nom, il fut transformé en hôtel dès 1920.

Built in 1905-1906 for Henri Gangloff on the plans of Louis Schwartz, its facade is decorated with an allegory recalling its original function as an art gallery, bookshop and antique shop attributed to the sculptor Bartholdi (a native of Colmar and creator of the Statue of Liberty). Acquired by the Schlumpf brothers, famous industrialists from Mulhouse who were at the origin of the automobile collection of the same name, it was transformed into a hotel in 1920.

Das 1905-1906 für Henri Gangloff nach den Plänen von Louis Schwartz errichtete Gebäude ist an seiner Fassade mit einer Allegorie geschmückt, die an seine ursprüngliche Funktion als Kunstgalerie, Buchhandlung und Antiquitätengeschäft erinnert, die dem Bildhauer Bartholdi (gebürtig aus Colmar und Schöpfer der Freiheitsstatue) zugeschrieben wird. Es wurde von den Brüdern Schlumpf, berühmten Industriellen aus Mulhouse, die die gleichnamige Autosammlung gründeten, erworben und ab 1920 in ein Hotel umgewandelt.
