EGLISE SAINT-JEAN-BAPTISTE DE LANNEMEZAN

L'Eglise Saint Jean-Baptiste de Lannemezan a été édifiée à la fin du XIIème siècle. En 1569, elle fut incendiée par les troupes huguenotes de Montgommery qui ont dévasté le village, des travaux ont été entrepris pour la restaurer après les dégâts causés par la Révolution. En 1851, le clocher fut démoli puis reconstruit et en 1854, le portail sud a été déplacé pour agrandir la nef. Le retable et le tabernacle du maître-autel datant du début du XVIIIème siècle sont classés au titre objet des monuments historiques. Le portail datant du XII siècle est inscrit à l'inventaire des monuments historiques depuis le 24 octobre 1945

The Church of Saint John the Baptist of Lannemezan was built at the end of the 12th century. In 1569, it was burned by the Huguenot troops of Montgomery who devastated the village, work was undertaken to restore it after the damage caused by the Revolution. In 1851 the bell tower was demolished and rebuilt, and in 1854 the south gate was moved to enlarge the nave. The altarpiece and the tabernacle of the high altar dating from the early eighteenth century are classified as objects of historical monuments. The portal dating from the XII century is listed in the inventory of historical monuments since October 24, 1945.

Die Kirche Saint Jean-Baptiste de Lannemezan wurde Ende des 12. Jahrhunderts errichtet. Im Jahr 1569 wurde sie von den hugenottischen Truppen Montgommerys niedergebrannt, die das Dorf verwüsteten. En 1851, el campanario fue demolido y reconstruido y en 1854, la portada sur se trasladó para ampliar la nave. El retablo y el tabernáculo del altar mayor de principios del siglo XVIII están clasificados como objeto de los monumentos históricos. El portal del siglo XII está inscrito en el inventario de monumentos históricos desde el 24 de octubre de 1945.
