Chapelle Saint-Nicolas de l'Hôtel-Dieu

L'Hôtel-Dieu est fondé au XIIIème siècle par Gauthier de Maintenay. Tenus par les soeurs Augustines dès 1252, l'établissement hospitalier et sa chapelle sont durement touchés par la mystérieuse catastrophe naturelle de 1467. Le sanctuaire est rebâti et consacré en 1475. Ne subsiste du XVème siècle que son portail flamboyant. C'est dans la seconde moitié du XIXème que la chapelle fait peau neuve grâce aux spectaculaires travaux de restauration entrepris sous l'égide de l'architecte Clovis Normand. Elle consitue aujourd'hui un très bel exemple d'architecture néogothique. Inscrite aux Monuments historiques. Ouverte du 7 juillet au 19 septembre, tous les jours sauf le lundi – De 14h à 18h.

The Hôtel-Dieu was founded in the 13th century by Gauthier de Maintenay. Run by the Augustinian nuns from 1252, the hospital and its chapel were badly hit by the mysterious natural disaster of 1467. The sanctuary was rebuilt and consecrated in 1475. All that remains from the 15th century is its flamboyant portal. It was in the second half of the 19th century that the chapel was given a new look thanks to the spectacular restoration work undertaken under the aegis of the architect Clovis Normand. It is now a very fine example of neo-gothic architecture It is listed as a Historic Monument. Open from July 7th to September 19th, every day except Monday – From 2pm to 6pm.

Heute ist sie ein sehr schönes Beispiel für neogotische Architektur Eingetragen in die Liste der historischen Monumente. Geöffnet vom 7. Juli bis 19.
