Tout part d’un nuage. Ou plutôt de deux nuages. Celui, toxique, de la catastrophe de Tchernobyl et celui, invisible, du cloud numérique, réseau planétaire qui alimente aujourd’hui les intelligences artificielles. Avec The Cloud Arkadi Zaides propose une performance percutante, à la croisée de la chorégraphie documentaire, de l’enquête politique et de l’expérimentation technologique. Sur fond de vidéos, d’archives, de montages sonores et de projections, la pièce, résolument progressiste, questionne le point de convergence entre catastrophe écologique et révolution technologique. Sur scène, les interprètes évoluent au cœur de ce flux continu d’images, de témoignages, de récits personnels ou fictionnels qui défilent et s’entrelacent. En juxtaposant ces deux "nuages", cette performance nous invite à une réflexion sur de grandes questions éthiques, sociales et environnementales de notre temps. Elle engage la responsabilité partagée des humains et des machines dans la construction de notre passé, de notre présent et de notre avenir. The Cloud ne se contente pas de faire le bulletin d’un climat mondial qui déraille ; elle prend la température de nos existences. Peut-être est-ce là, dans cette météo intérieure, que réside un enjeu essentiel : comment donner du sens à ce que nos corps ressentent, alors qu’ils sont inévitablement pris dans les mutations du monde ?

It all starts with a cloud. Or rather, two clouds. The toxic cloud of the Chernobyl disaster and the invisible cloud of the digital cloud, the planetary network that powers today's artificial intelligence. With The Cloud, Arkadi Zaides offers a powerful performance, at the crossroads of documentary choreography, political investigation and technological experimentation. Against a backdrop of videos, archives, sound montages and projections, the resolutely progressive piece questions the point of convergence between ecological catastrophe and technological revolution. On stage, the performers evolve at the heart of this continuous flow of images, testimonies and personal or fictional accounts that scroll past and intertwine. By juxtaposing these two "clouds", this performance invites us to reflect on the major ethical, social and environmental issues of our time. It engages the shared responsibility of humans and machines in shaping our past, present and future. The Cloud doesn't just report on a global climate that's going off the rails; it also takes the temperature of our very lives. Perhaps it's in this inner weather that an essential issue lies: how can we make sense of what our bodies are feeling, as they are inevitably caught up in the mutations of the world?

Die giftige der Katastrophe von Tschernobyl und die unsichtbare der digitalen Cloud, des weltweiten Netzwerks, das heute künstliche Intelligenzen antreibt. Arkadi Zaides' The Cloud ist eine eindringliche Performance, die eine Mischung aus dokumentarischer Choreografie, politischer Untersuchung und technologischem Experiment darstellt. Vor dem Hintergrund von Videos, Archiven, Tonmontagen und Projektionen stellt das progressive Stück die Frage, wo die Umweltkatastrophe und die technologische Revolution aufeinandertreffen. Auf der Bühne bewegen sich die Darsteller inmitten eines kontinuierlichen Stroms von Bildern, Zeugnissen, persönlichen oder fiktionalen Erzählungen, die aneinander vorbeiziehen und sich miteinander verflechten. Durch die Gegenüberstellung dieser beiden "Wolken" lädt uns diese Performance dazu ein, über die großen ethischen, sozialen und ökologischen Fragen unserer Zeit nachzudenken. Sie fordert die gemeinsame Verantwortung von Menschen und Maschinen für die Gestaltung unserer Vergangenheit, Gegenwart und Zukunft. The Cloud begnügt sich nicht damit, ein entgleistes Weltklima zu prognostizieren, sondern misst die Temperatur unserer Existenz. Vielleicht liegt hier, in diesem inneren Wetter, eine wesentliche Herausforderung: Wie können wir dem, was unsere Körper fühlen, einen Sinn geben, wenn sie unweigerlich von den Veränderungen der Welt erfasst werden?

De giftige wolk van de ramp in Tsjernobyl en de onzichtbare wolk van de digitale wolk, het wereldwijde netwerk dat tegenwoordig kunstmatige intelligentie aandrijft. Met The Cloud biedt Arkadi Zaides een krachtige voorstelling, op het kruispunt van documentaire choreografie, politiek onderzoek en technologisch experiment. Tegen een achtergrond van video's, archieven, geluidsmontages en projecties stelt het resoluut progressieve stuk het punt van convergentie tussen ecologische ramp en technologische revolutie in vraag. Op het podium evolueren de performers in het hart van deze continue stroom van beelden, getuigenissen en persoonlijke of fictieve verslagen die voorbijschuiven en zich met elkaar verweven. Door deze twee 'wolken' naast elkaar te zetten, nodigt deze voorstelling ons uit om na te denken over de grote ethische, sociale en milieukwesties van onze tijd. Het gaat over de gedeelde verantwoordelijkheid van mens en machine bij het vormgeven van ons verleden, heden en toekomst. The Cloud doet meer dan alleen verslag doen van een wereldwijd klimaat dat ontspoort; het neemt de temperatuur van ons leven op. Misschien ligt daar wel de kern van de zaak: hoe kunnen we begrijpen wat ons lichaam voelt, wanneer het onvermijdelijk wordt meegesleurd door de veranderingen in de wereld?

Con The Cloud, Arkadi Zaides ofrece una poderosa performance, a caballo entre la coreografía documental, la investigación política y la experimentación tecnológica. Con un telón de fondo de vídeos, archivos, montajes sonoros y proyecciones, la pieza, decididamente progresista, cuestiona el punto de convergencia entre el desastre ecológico y la revolución tecnológica. En el escenario, los intérpretes se mueven a través del flujo continuo de imágenes, testimonios y relatos personales o ficticios que se suceden y entrecruzan. Al yuxtaponer estas dos "nubes", el espectáculo nos invita a reflexionar sobre las grandes cuestiones éticas, sociales y medioambientales de nuestro tiempo. Se trata de la responsabilidad compartida de humanos y máquinas en la configuración de nuestro pasado, presente y futuro. La Nube no se limita a informar sobre un clima global que se está descarrilando, sino que toma la temperatura de nuestras propias vidas. Tal vez ahí radique el reto clave: ¿cómo dar sentido a lo que sienten nuestros cuerpos, cuando se ven inevitablemente atrapados en los cambios del mundo?

Sullo sfondo di video, archivi, montaggi sonori e proiezioni, l'opera, decisamente progressista, si interroga sul punto di convergenza tra disastro ecologico e rivoluzione tecnologica. Sul palcoscenico, gli interpreti si evolvono al centro di questo flusso continuo di immagini, testimonianze e racconti personali o di fantasia che scorrono e si intrecciano. Accostando queste due "nuvole", lo spettacolo ci invita a riflettere sulle principali questioni etiche, sociali e ambientali del nostro tempo. Si tratta di una responsabilità condivisa da uomini e macchine nel plasmare il nostro passato, il nostro presente e il nostro futuro. The Cloud non si limita a riferire di un clima globale che sta andando fuori controllo, ma prende in considerazione la temperatura delle nostre stesse vite. Forse è proprio qui la sfida principale: come possiamo dare un senso a ciò che i nostri corpi sentono, quando sono inevitabilmente coinvolti nei cambiamenti del mondo?
