« Arecibo » peut évoquer trois choses. Rien. Une destination à Porto-Rico, luxuriante et accueillante, où on peut aller se faire bronzer le cul. Un radiotélescope qui a envoyé un message à destination des extraterrestres, en 1974. Que des personnes aient déployé tout un programme scientifique pour essayer de parler aux aliens, alors qu'à titre personnel j'arrive pas à dire à la coiffeuse que je trouve ma coupe très laide, ça me bute.

"Arecibo" can evoke three things. Nothing. A destination in Puerto Rico, lush and welcoming, where you can go and sunbathe your ass off. A radio telescope that sent a message to extraterrestrials in 1974. The fact that people have deployed an entire scientific program to try and talk to aliens, when I personally can't tell the hairdresser that I think my haircut is ugly, stumps me.

Ein Radioteleskop, das 1974 eine Nachricht an Außerirdische gesendet hat. Dass Menschen ein ganzes wissenschaftliches Programm aufwenden, um zu versuchen, mit Außerirdischen zu sprechen, während ich persönlich der Friseurin nicht sagen kann, dass ich meinen Haarschnitt hässlich finde, das bringt mich um.

El hecho de que la gente haya desplegado todo un programa científico para intentar hablar con extraterrestres, cuando yo personalmente no puedo decirle al peluquero que creo que mi corte de pelo es realmente feo, me deja perplejo.

Il fatto che si sia messo in campo un intero programma scientifico per cercare di parlare con gli alieni, mentre io personalmente non riesco a dire al parrucchiere che penso che il mio taglio di capelli sia davvero brutto, mi lascia perplesso.
