À l’approche de la cinquantaine, il a voulu en composer une interprétation très personnelle, mû par l’envie de raconter sa propre histoire, d’exprimer ses propres ressentis et émotions. Il a ainsi travaillé en profondeur sur les textures sonores et visuelles inspirées par le film, tout en accordant une place de choix à l’improvisation.

Grégory Ott's solo piano project is a musical evocation of Wim Wenders' 1987 Franco-German film Wings of Desire. An allegory of the quest for freedom and an interrogation of temporality and the passing of time, this cinematic masterpiece deeply moved the pianist during his adolescence. As he approached fifty, he wanted to compose a very personal interpretation, driven by the desire to tell his own story, to express his own feelings and emotions. He thus worked in depth on the sound and visual textures inspired by the film, while giving pride of place to improvisation.

Grégory Otts Soloklavierprojekt ist eine musikalische Reminiszenz an den deutsch-französischen Film Flügel der Begierde von Wim Wenders aus dem Jahr 1987. Dieses filmische Meisterwerk, eine Allegorie auf die Suche nach Freiheit, eine Frage über die Zeitlichkeit und die verrinnende Zeit, hat den Pianisten in seiner Jugend tief erschüttert. Als er auf die 50 zuging, wollte er eine sehr persönliche Interpretation des Films komponieren, um seine eigene Geschichte zu erzählen und seine eigenen Gefühle und Emotionen auszudrücken. Er arbeitete intensiv an den vom Film inspirierten Klang- und Bildtexturen und räumte der Improvisation einen großen Platz ein.

Dit filmische meesterwerk, een allegorie over de zoektocht naar vrijheid, een vraag over tijdelijkheid en het verstrijken van de tijd, heeft de pianist diep geraakt tijdens zijn adolescentie. Toen hij de vijftig naderde, wilde hij een zeer persoonlijke interpretatie componeren, gedreven door het verlangen om zijn eigen verhaal te vertellen, zijn eigen gevoelens en emoties uit te drukken. Daarom werkte hij diepgaand aan de geluids- en visuele texturen die geïnspireerd waren door de film, terwijl hij improvisatie een belangrijke plaats gaf.
