This album offers a captivating dialogue between an instrumentalist at the peak of his art and a songwriter and wordsmith. Together, they create new forms of song with a delicacy that bridges continents and plays with traditions. Through ten finely chiselled tracks, Our Calling is a sonic and narrative ode to migration in all its forms: whether vegetal, like a seed carried by the wind; embodied by birds, like the nightingale migrating between West Africa and Europe as the seasons go by; or human, through the centuries and the trade routes that have fostered the sharing of musical modes and rhythms.
