Installé en pays Bigouden depuis les années 80, Michel Hamelin puise son inspiration dans les paysages bretons, leurs ciels tourmentés et les teintes changeantes de la mer. Il peint principalement à l’huile, au couteau, une technique découverte aux Beaux-Arts de Bordeaux qui lui permet de jouer librement avec la matière et la couleur. Il explore aussi d’autres mediums comme le pastel sec, l’aquarelle, la sanguine ou l’encre, pour exprimer la richesse et la sensibilité de son univers artistique.

Michel Hamelin, who has lived in the Bigouden region since the 1980s, draws his inspiration from Breton landscapes, their tormented skies and the changing hues of the sea. He paints mainly in oil, using a palette knife, a technique he discovered at the Beaux-Arts in Bordeaux, enabling him to play freely with matter and color. He also explores other media, such as dry pastel, watercolor, sanguine and ink, to express the richness and sensitivity of his artistic universe.

Michel Hamelin, der sich seit den 80er Jahren im Pays Bigouden niedergelassen hat, schöpft seine Inspiration aus den bretonischen Landschaften, ihren stürmischen Himmeln und den wechselnden Farbtönen des Meeres. Er malt hauptsächlich mit Öl und Messer, eine Technik, die er an der Kunsthochschule in Bordeaux entdeckt hat und die es ihm ermöglicht, frei mit Material und Farbe zu spielen. Er erforscht auch andere Medien wie Trockenpastell, Aquarell, Blut und Tinte, um den Reichtum und die Sensibilität seines künstlerischen Universums auszudrücken.

Michel Hamelin woont sinds de jaren 1980 in de Bigouden en haalt zijn inspiratie uit de Bretonse landschappen, hun gekwelde luchten en de veranderende tinten van de zee. Hij schildert voornamelijk in olieverf, met een mes, een techniek die hij ontdekte aan de Beaux-Arts in Bordeaux en die hem toelaat om vrij te spelen met materie en kleur. Hij verkent ook andere media, zoals droge pastel, aquarel, rood krijt en inkt, om uitdrukking te geven aan de rijkdom en gevoeligheid van zijn artistieke universum.

Michel Hamelin vive en la región de Bigouden desde los años ochenta y se inspira en los paisajes bretones, sus cielos atormentados y las tonalidades cambiantes del mar. Pinta principalmente al óleo, con espátula, una técnica que descubrió en las Bellas Artes de Burdeos y que le permite jugar libremente con la materia y el color. También explora otros medios, como el pastel seco, la acuarela, la tiza roja y la tinta, para expresar la riqueza y sensibilidad de su universo artístico.

Michel Hamelin vive nella regione di Bigouden dagli anni Ottanta e trae ispirazione dai paesaggi bretoni, dai loro cieli tormentati e dalle sfumature mutevoli del mare. Dipinge principalmente a olio, utilizzando una spatola, una tecnica scoperta alle Beaux-Arts di Bordeaux, che gli permette di giocare liberamente con la materia e il colore. Esplora anche altri mezzi, come il pastello secco, l'acquerello, il gesso rosso e l'inchiostro, per esprimere la ricchezza e la sensibilità del suo universo artistico.
