The inauguration of the Opéra-Théâtre in 1752 marked the birth of a cultural life open to spectacle, the arts and ideas. This moment echoes the spirit of the Enlightenment, which influenced architecture, philosophy and artistic practices. The central question of the exhibition is: How has Messinian culture been shaped and transformed, between culture, art and heritage, from the 18th century to the present day?
