Description

From 1919 to 1936, a wave of freedom swept over France and the Western democracies. These were the "Roaring Twenties": roaring with the intoxication of joy regained after years of war; also roaring with the difficulty of reconciling health, social and economic crises with dreams of modernity and emancipation. In Salon, too, a profound industrial and cultural revival overturned habits. Salon?s manufacturing industry diversified, its market turned towards international markets and accompanied the rise of tourism in Provence. At the same time, the duty of remembrance began to take shape, with the inauguration of the war memorial and Eugène Piron?s "sublime awakening", which celebrates its 100th anniversary this year. The temporary exhibition at the Museums of Empéri, Salon & Crau tells the story of this wild history, with its creativity, exuberance and memories. Free admission
