La science de l’évolution biologique continue de produire de nouvelles connaissances. Certain·es considèrent que la théorie de l’évolution d’aujourd’hui est dans la continuité de la « théorie synthétique de l’évolution » du milieu du 20e siècle. Cependant les choses sont plus compliquées que cette vision linéaire et certaines pièces de la mosaïque que constituait cette théorie ont bel et bien été remplacées.

The science of biological evolution continues to produce new knowledge. Some consider today?s theory of evolution to be a continuation of the "synthetic theory of evolution" of the mid-20th century. However, things are more complicated than this linear vision, and some pieces of the mosaic constituted by this theory have indeed been replaced.
