PHILIPPE LHEZ PEINTRE-AQUARELLISTE – Bagnères-de-Bigorre

Born in Tarbes in 1953, a watercolor painter, he has a taste for drawing, words, ideas and the artistic gesture. Self-taught, he opened his own gallery in 2006. Illustrator for publishers (Gallimard, Milan, Gulf Stream, Pin à crochets, Privat…), he also gives courses in Tarbes. In his illustrations, Lhez reveals landscapes, architecture and people of the Pyrenees. Philippe Lhez reopens lights, paints "from the ground up", refines in the studio. Between the precision of drawing and the fluidity of watercolor, his hybrid dry and wet technique releases a delightful effect of transparency and iridescent reflections on white paper. But the artist is already delving into the undergrowth, seeking out the hidden glimmer of its shadows…
