La commune fit l’objet d’une nouvelle délimitation en 1836 : certaines fermes comme la Bardouillère et des maisons du bourg faisaient partie de Volnay. Depuis, la limite sud est formée par le ruisseau la Sourice. La seigneurie de paroisse était annexée sous l’Ancien Régime au château du Coudray que vous apercevrez à droite de la colline en allant vers la Bardouillère. The boundaries of the commune were redrawn in 1836: some farms, such as La Bardouillère, and some houses in the village became part of Volnay. Since then, the southern boundary has been formed by the Sourice stream.
