Chantilly, capitale du cheval, ville princière, ville d’art et d’histoire, ville à la campagne… les expressions pour qualifier Chantilly sont nombreuses ! Chantilly, c’est tout cela et bien plus encore. La ville est née au XVIIe siècle, avec la construction de l’église Notre-Dame sur ordre des princes de Condé, propriétaires du Château. Comparée à sa voisine Senlis, Chantilly est donc une ville récente dont l’urbanisme s’est développé en deux grandes phases : le long de la rue du Connétable dans le prolongement des Grandes Écuries, au XVIIIe siècle d’après le « plan d’embellissement » tracé par le prince Louis Henri de Bourbon Condé ; puis le long de l’actuelle avenue Joffre au XIXe siècle, en direction de la gare et en contournant l’hippodrome, dès lors poumon économique de la ville. Ville à l’architecture exceptionnelle avec son château, ses grandes écuries ou encore son pavillon de Manse, Chantilly a aussi su préserver son patrimoine naturel comme les jardins du château, le potager des princes, le réseau de canaux et la forêt. The town was born in the 17th century, with the construction of Notre-Dame church on the orders of the Princes de Condé, owners of the Château. Compared to its neighbor Senlis, Chantilly is a recent town whose urban development took place in two major phases: along the Rue du Connétable, in the extension of the Grandes Écuries, in the 18th century, according to the "beautification plan" drawn up by Prince Louis Henri de Bourbon Condé; then along the present-day Avenue Joffre in the 19th century, in the direction of the railway station and bypassing the racecourse, by then the town?s economic lung. A town of exceptional architecture, with its château, grand stables and Pavillon de Manse, Chantilly has also preserved its natural heritage, including the château gardens, the princes? kitchen garden, the canal network and the forest. Chantilly is also a name carried far beyond our borders thanks to a rich intangible heritage: racing, porcelain, lace and Chantilly cream!

Chantilly ist all das und noch viel mehr. Die Stadt entstand im 17. Jahrhundert mit dem Bau der Kirche Notre-Dame auf Geheiß der Prinzen de Condé, die das Schloss besaßen. Im Vergleich zu seiner Nachbarstadt Senlis ist Chantilly also eine junge Stadt, deren Stadtplanung sich in zwei großen Phasen entwickelte: entlang der Rue du Connétable in der Verlängerung der Grandes Écuries im 18. Jahrhundert gemäß dem von Prinz Louis Henri de Bourbon Condé entworfenen "Verschönerungsplan"; dann entlang der heutigen Avenue Joffre im 19. Jahrhundert in Richtung Bahnhof und um die Pferderennbahn herum, die von da an das wirtschaftliche Zentrum der Stadt bildete. Chantilly ist eine Stadt mit außergewöhnlicher Architektur wie dem Schloss, den großen Pferdeställen oder dem Pavillon de Manse, hat aber auch sein natürliches Erbe wie die Schlossgärten, den Gemüsegarten der Prinzen, das Kanalnetz und den Wald bewahrt. Chantilly ist auch ein Name, der dank seines reichen immateriellen Erbes weit über unsere Grenzen hinaus bekannt ist: die Pferderennen, das Porzellan, die Spitze und die Chantilly-Sahne!

Chantilly is dit allemaal en nog veel meer. De stad ontstond in de 17e eeuw met de bouw van de Notre-Dame kerk in opdracht van de prinsen van Condé, eigenaars van het kasteel. Vergeleken met het naburige Senlis is Chantilly dus een recente stad waarvan de stedelijke ontwikkeling in twee grote fasen plaatsvond: langs de Rue du Connétable, in het verlengde van de Grandes Écuries, in de 18e eeuw, volgens het "verfraaiingsplan" opgesteld door Prins Louis Henri de Bourbon Condé; vervolgens langs de huidige Avenue Joffre in de 19e eeuw, in de richting van het station en voorbij de renbaan, vanaf dat moment het economische hart van de stad. Chantilly is een stad met een uitzonderlijke architectuur, met zijn kasteel, grote stallen en het Pavillon de Manse, maar heeft ook zijn natuurlijke erfgoed weten te behouden, waaronder de kasteeltuinen, de moestuin van de prinsen, het netwerk van kanalen en het bos. Chantilly is ook een naam die ver buiten onze grenzen wordt gedragen dankzij een rijk immaterieel erfgoed: races, porselein, kant en Chantillycrème!

La ciudad nació en el siglo XVII, con la construcción de la iglesia de Notre-Dame por orden de los príncipes de Condé, propietarios del castillo. Comparada con su vecina Senlis, Chantilly es, por tanto, una ciudad reciente cuyo desarrollo urbano se produjo en dos fases principales: a lo largo de la rue du Connétable, en la prolongación de las Grandes Écuries, en el siglo XVIII, según el "plan de embellecimiento" elaborado por el príncipe Luis Enrique de Borbón Condé; después, a lo largo de la actual Avenue Joffre, en el siglo XIX, en dirección a la estación y circunvalando el hipódromo, desde entonces el corazón económico de la ciudad. Chantilly, ciudad de arquitectura excepcional, con su castillo, sus grandes caballerizas y su Pabellón de Manse, también ha sabido preservar su patrimonio natural, como los jardines del castillo, el huerto de los príncipes, la red de canales y el bosque. La città è nata nel XVII secolo, con la costruzione della chiesa di Notre-Dame su ordine dei Principi di Condé, proprietari del castello. Rispetto alla vicina Senlis, Chantilly è quindi una città recente, il cui sviluppo urbano si è svolto in due fasi principali: lungo la Rue du Connétable, nel prolungamento delle Grandes Écuries, nel XVIII secolo, secondo il "piano di abbellimento" elaborato dal principe Luigi Enrico di Borbone Condé; poi lungo l'attuale Avenue Joffre nel XIX secolo, in direzione della stazione e aggirando l'ippodromo, da quel momento in poi cuore economico della città. Città dall'architettura eccezionale, con il suo castello, le grandi scuderie e il Pavillon de Manse, Chantilly ha saputo conservare anche il suo patrimonio naturale, tra cui i giardini del castello, l'orto dei principi, la rete di canali e la foresta.
